Eutelsat, OneAccess to debut Advanced Enterprise Services on Ka-Sat

Eutelsat Communications, a leading provider of satellite communications, recently collaborated with OneAccess to bring the first ever performance-enhanced platform for businesses, specifically designed to provide services operated on Eutelsat’s Ka-Sat high throughput satellite in a secure VPN environment. The new service aims to make satellite communications more affordable for enterprises by providing DSL-like service at DSL-like prices.

For two years now, Eutelsat’s Ka-sat has been revolutionizing the market for satellite broadband services for businesses and consumers alike in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. To help improve and extend the scope of enterprise services, OneAccess and Eutelsat worked together to develop a dedicated One1520 satellite router that incorporates integrated traffic acceleration, IP routing and IP-VPN secure transport to provide 20Mbps download and 6Mbps upload speeds. By using One1520 single embedded box solution, it helps lessen the total cost of ownership for both operators and users. This innovative platform is perfect for delivering Internet access to businesses with dispersed networks of offices, where maintaining an ultrafast, secure, inter-branch communications network is essential. The high-speed broadband allows private networks to immediately implement an integrated backup or traffic offload solutions in highly secure environments,

Eutelsat’s Broadband Business Unit GM Jean-Francois Fenech took note of the company’s collaboration with OneAccess, saying “Through our cutting edge KA-SAT technology, we have demonstrated our ability to provide broadband access to businesses with unmatched quality and capacity across the extended service area of our KA-SAT multibeam satellite. The partnership between Eutelsat and OneAccess takes our professional services to the next level, enabling us to deliver a truly next-generation VPN solution for enterprises using our KA-SAT satellite technology combined with OneAccess innovative router technology."

The new service is scheduled to roll out this month.
